Pittsburgh as a city encompasses the spirit of Taaza. A cultural hub with a history of immigrants and blue collar workers; this hard working, welcoming culture is one that still rings true through our city. Taaza’s goal is to put Pittsburgh on the map and truly show the country what this city of bridges (literally 446) and three rivers has to offer.

 

We have so many diverse competitions and talented dance teams within the South Asian diaspora here in Pittsburgh. But it’s not just South Asian dance that inspires us-- we have so much diversity simply within the global dance culture of Pittsburgh-- Bhangra, Irish Step, Ballet, Hip Hop-- and it’s these styles that can inspire and innovate the definition of bollywood-fusion. At Taaza, we define dance as a celebration of culture and as an avenue for understanding unique identities.
